Data Literacy for Journalists

Data Literacy for Journalists is a free, six-week online course for journalists and people who work in the news industry.

The course has been created by Dr Jingrong Tong, senior lecturer in digital news cultures at the University of Sheffield, and Claire Miller, data editor at Reach plc.

Available on the FutureLearn platform, it delivers a foundational knowledge in data journalism.

Users will learn how to collect, clean and analyse data, identify and understand the stories behind the data, and accurately present data in news stories.
