During a period of change within the university’s marketing structure, I was one of a small group of freelance creatives brought in to cover the department during the recruitment process. The team was very small, but the remit was incredibly wide.
Over 18 months, I was responsible for or heavily involved with all the functions of a major university’s marketing department. Reporting directly to the interim director of marketing, I worked alongside department leaders, school heads and academics to produce university campaigns, marketing material and major publications.
My work with the university included, but was not limited to:
Developing internal and external strategic messaging
Overseeing production of prospectuses, from concept to print
Writing and editing prospectus content
Managing production of audio-visual content
Developing, organising and delivering national and international recruitment campaigns
Developing and delivering advertising campaigns
Creating marketing literature for schools and services
Writing and overseeing production of university magazines
Writing web content for a wide range of markets and purposes
Writing student and alumni case studies
